Norway awards Hanwha $922M for 16 Chunmoo artillery systems and a Polish production plant by 2030.
Hanwha Aerospace has won a $922 million contract from Norway to deliver 16 Chunmoo long-range artillery launch systems and rockets, part of a $2 billion defense project.
The deal includes plans for a production facility in Poland by 2030 to support European supply chains.
Hanwha’s rapid delivery and Arctic-ready systems give it an edge over European rivals, especially as developing comparable systems could take over two decades.
Norway already uses Hanwha’s K9 howitzers, and the Chunmoo has been adopted by Poland, Estonia, and several Middle Eastern nations.
