MOL Group has signed a strategic partnership with Libya’s National Oil Corporation to collaborate on hydrocarbon exploration, production, and crude trading, aiming to boost energy security and diversify supply.
The agreement, formalized in Budapest, enables information sharing and joint projects across the energy value chain.
As part of its SHAPE TOMORROW strategy, MOL seeks to maintain at least 90,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day in production over the next five years.
The deal marks a key expansion of MOL’s global footprint, following partnerships with national oil companies in Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, and Türkiye.
It coincides with increased international interest in Libya’s energy sector, including a major licensing round and new agreements with Chevron, TotalEnergies, and TGS.
