A 36-year-old man is in serious but stable condition after being struck by a black Volkswagen ID5 on the southbound M74 near Tradeston, Glasgow, around 6:55 p.m. on January 31, 2026. The motorway was closed for several hours for investigation and reopened by 11:20 p.m. He was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital. Police Scotland are seeking witnesses and dash-cam footage from the area, particularly near the Cathcart Road flyover, and urge anyone with information to contact them on 101 using incident number 2601.
