Kapsch TrafficCom unveiled its Market-Ready Connected Tolling Platform at the 5GAA meeting in Sacramento on February 5, 2026, demonstrating real-time tolling and safety alerts using both 5G Network V2X and direct 5.9GHz C-V2X communication. The system, compatible with Verizon and Valeo technologies, enables gantry-free tolling and millisecond-latency responses via secure SCMS-protected direct vehicle-to-infrastructure links. It serves as a unified hub for managing toll and safety data from multiple communication paths, supporting interoperability and future-ready infrastructure. Backed by over ten years of development, including pilots with CTRMA, Ford, and NCTA, the platform aims to streamline transitions to software-defined tolling without disrupting existing operations.
