India’s defence chief visited Armenia to boost military ties, following a major rocket launcher deal.

Indian Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan led a four-day visit to Armenia starting February 1, 2026, to strengthen defence and security ties. The trip follows Armenia’s role as the first international customer for India’s Pinaka multi-barrel rocket launcher, with Rs 2,000 crore worth of unguided and guided variants delivered since 2023. The deal, signed in 2022, marks a milestone in India’s push for defence self-reliance and global exports. The visit includes meetings with Armenian military leaders and diplomatic officials, underscoring growing strategic cooperation.
