India’s army now has over 1,000 Johnnette JM-1 drones, made with 80% local parts, after receiving a third batch.
The Indian Army has received its third batch of domestically produced Johnnette JM-1 loitering munitions, developed by Noida-based Johnnette Technologies, which were showcased at the 77th Republic Day Parade.
The drones, now in service with over 1,000 units supplied, have proven effective in combat during Operation Sindoor and are built with more than 80% indigenous parts, avoiding Chinese components.
The company, founded in 2014, has demonstrated performance in extreme altitudes up to 18,000 feet and is advancing long-range combat drones and Medium Altitude Long Endurance UCAVs to bolster India’s defence capabilities.
