The Royal Canadian Mint has released a 99.99% pure silver collector coin honoring West African Adinkra symbols from Ghana’s Akan people as part of its Black History Month commemoration.
Designed by Canadian artist Kwame Delfish, the coin features three concentric rings of traditional symbols representing peace, respect, unity, and Earth’s sacredness, centered around a maple leaf symbolizing Canada.
The obverse shows King Charles III’s effigy and a maple leaf pattern.
Priced at $199.95, it is available through the Mint’s website, call centers, retail locations, Canada Post outlets, and global distributors.
The release underscores the Mint’s commitment to reflecting Canada’s diverse cultural narratives.
