Barton Gold starts drilling at Challenger Gold Project to boost resources and support a 2026 feasibility study for a low-risk, near-surface gold operation.
Barton Gold Holdings has started resource upgrade drilling at its Challenger Gold Project in South Australia, targeting near-surface mineralization in four open pits to convert it into JORC (2012) Indicated resources and potential Ore Reserves.
Up to 8,000 meters of reverse circulation drilling will support a Definitive Feasibility Study (DFS) due by June 30, 2026, aiming to launch a low-risk, four-year Stage 1 operation using historical tailings and limited surface material without disturbing the underground mine.
This approach preserves options for future underground and regional development at Tarcoola, Wudinna, and Tolmer, all potentially processed through the fully permitted Central Gawler Mill.
The project’s mineral resource estimate stands at 313,000 ounces of gold, with most deposits near the mill.
Barton is also advancing its Tunkillia Gold Project and engaging with financiers for Stage 1 funding.
