A 40-foot container truck overturned near LASPOTECH in Ikorodu, Lagos, around midnight on February 1, 2026, due to brake failure, trapping the driver inside. Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) responded with its Rescue and Recovery Team and a Super Metro 002 recovery truck, successfully extracting the driver alive. The accident partially blocked Ishagamu Road, causing traffic disruptions and prompting diversions. Recovery operations continued, with a crane still needed to fully remove the container. LASTMA confirmed the driver’s survival and said updates would follow.
