Tata and Hyundai India saw major sales gains in Jan 2026, fueled by rising demand for EVs and exports.

In January 2026, Tata Motors and Hyundai Motor India reported strong sales growth, with Tata achieving a 47.1% year-on-year increase to 71,066 units, driven by a 46.1% rise in domestic passenger vehicle sales and a 72.7% surge in electric vehicle sales to 9,052 units. Hyundai recorded its highest-ever monthly domestic sales at 59,107 units, a 9.5% increase, and total sales of 73,137 units, up 11.5%, including a 20.9% jump in exports to 14,030 units. Both companies cited growing consumer demand, strong product performance, and expanding EV and export markets as key factors behind their results.
