The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation's Fishing Bureau reported significant progress in 2025, including the restoration of over 150 miles of trout streams, the stocking of more than 1.2 million fish across state waters, and the launch of a new digital fishing license system to improve access.
The bureau also completed 40 habitat improvement projects and expanded fishing access at 12 state parks.
