The National Inventors Hall of Fame has named its 2026 class, honoring 15 innovators whose work spans medical technology, communications, agriculture, and consumer products. Among them are Teresa Meng for her CMOS Wi-Fi technology, Sara Blakely of Spanx, Gebisa Ejeta for drought-resistant sorghum, and Louis Argenta and Michael Morykwas for the V.A.C. wound therapy system. Henry Samueli advanced broadband communications, while Feng Zhang pioneered CRISPR gene editing. Posthumous honors go to Donald Alstadt, Olive Dennis, and Frank S. Greene Jr. for their contributions to adhesives, rail travel, and semiconductor memory. The inductees will be celebrated on May 7 in North Canton, Ohio, alongside the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
