A man was arrested for hitting a trooper during a winter response in Prince George’s County.

A 32-year-old man from Upper Marlboro was arrested on suspicion of impaired driving after striking a Maryland State Police trooper early Saturday morning in Prince George’s County. The incident occurred around 7 a.m. near Moores Road on southbound Branch Avenue while the trooper was responding to a parked vehicle with emergency lights on. The trooper was injured but treated and released. The driver, Rayshaud Davon Shield, was taken into custody and held at the Prince George’s County Detention Center pending a court hearing.
