A KKR-led group is close to buying ST Telemedia’s data center unit for over $10 billion.
A KKR-led consortium is nearing a deal to acquire ST Telemedia Global Data Centres, a Singapore-based data center operator, in a transaction valued at over $10 billion, according to the Wall Street Journal.
The purchase, involving KKR and Singapore’s Singtel, would target the company from its parent, ST Telemedia, owned by Singapore’s state investor Temasek Holdings.
The deal, if completed, would rank among Asia’s largest data center transactions, driven by rising demand for digital infrastructure due to artificial intelligence growth.
ST Telemedia Global Data Centres operates over 100 data centers across more than 20 markets, including Singapore, India, Japan, and parts of Europe, with over 2 gigawatts of IT load capacity.
KKR holds a 14% stake, Singtel owns over 4%, and no official comments were available from the involved parties.
Un grupo liderado por KKR está cerca de comprar la unidad de centro de datos de ST Telemedia por más de $ 10 mil millones.
