Myanmar’s Yangon Zoological Gardens, established in 1906, marked its 120th anniversary from January 31 to February 4 with a celebration featuring a market fair, music and dance performances, magic shows, and children’s talks.
The zoo, one of Southeast Asia’s oldest, serves as a public recreation and education site while supporting conservation and breeding programs for endangered species.
It currently houses over 1,400 animals across about 140 species of mammals, birds, and reptiles.
