Two Indiana fire chiefs arrested for stealing over $110,000 from a volunteer fire department.
Two former fire chiefs in southern Indiana, Bradley T. Jacobs and Brent A. McInteer, were arrested on felony charges for allegedly stealing over $110,000 from the Montgomery Township Volunteer Fire Department between 2021 and 2024.
Authorities say Jacobs took more than $70,000 through unauthorized transfers and purchases, while McInteer is accused of stealing over $40,000 using the department’s accounts.
Both men face charges including theft, official misconduct, and corrupt business influence.
McInteer was taken into custody in Lawrence County, and Jacobs was arrested and jailed in Jennings County.
They are scheduled for initial court appearances in Jennings County Circuit Court.
