Minnesota leaders face congressional hearing over alleged $9B in misused federal social services funds.
Minnesota Governor Tim Walz and Attorney General Keith Ellison are set to testify on March 4, 2026, before the U.S. House Oversight Committee amid a federal investigation into alleged widespread fraud and misuse of federal funds in the state’s social services programs.
The probe, led by Chairman James Comer, R-Ky., stems from claims of systemic mismanagement, cover-ups, and retaliation against whistleblowers, with allegations that about $9 billion in federal funds meant for children and disabled Americans were improperly used.
The hearing will examine the state’s response to fraud reports and seek documents and testimony to assess accountability.
