Lyon College appoints Dr. Carolyn Henry as dean of its new veterinary school in Cabot, set to admit students in 2027.
Lyon College has named Dr. Carolyn Henry as dean of its new School of Veterinary Medicine in Cabot, Arkansas, effective March 1, 2026.
She will lead the program ahead of an August 2026 AVMA accreditation site visit, with plans to admit its first 120 students in 2027.
The school, co-located with Cabot Animal Support Services, is part of Lyon College’s expansion of health sciences in central Arkansas, alongside its dental medicine school.
Dr. Henry, a board-certified veterinary oncologist and former dean at the University of Missouri, brings decades of experience in veterinary education and research, including advocacy for the One Health approach.
Founding Dean Dr. Eleanor Green will assist during the transition.
The initiative is one of two new veterinary schools in development in Arkansas.
