A government AI program trained 33 students in applying technology to traditional Indian medicine research.
The Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences concluded a three-week AI internship program for 33 students selected from 180 applicants, running from December 15 to January 30, 2026.
Organized by the Ministry of Ayush, the initiative focused on applying artificial intelligence to traditional Ayush research, including medicinal plant studies, bioinformatics, Prakriti assessment, medical imaging, posture detection, and digitizing ancient manuscripts.
Participants received mentorship and developed technology-driven solutions to strengthen evidence-based validation and digital documentation of Ayush knowledge.
Officials emphasized the need to further develop and scale the projects through structured implementation, aligning with CCRAS’s broader mission to advance Ayush through innovation and technology.
