Florida allows public collection of cold-stunned invasive iguanas Feb. 1–2 without a permit.
The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission is allowing the public to collect live, cold-stunned green iguanas without a permit on Sunday and Monday, Feb. 1–2, from designated FWC offices in South and Southwest Florida.
Iguanas, classified as invasive, must be placed in sealed cloth bags and secured in locked containers during transport.
Drop-off times are limited, and collected iguanas will be humanely euthanized or transferred to permitted dealers.
The public is advised to wear protective clothing and avoid bringing iguanas indoors.
Outside this window, possessing live iguanas requires a permit.
