Washington gets $12.16M in federal funds to build 14 EV charging stations along major highways, with completion in 24 months.
Washington state has secured $12.16 million in federal funding to build 14 new EV fast-charging stations along major highways, including I-90 and US 97, with projects expected to be completed within 24 months.
The funding, reinstated after a federal judge ruled the Trump administration’s withholding of funds unlawful, will expand EV access in rural and border areas from Cle Elum to Deer Park.
Five companies, including Tesla and EVgo, were selected to develop the stations, which will add 96 charging ports.
The state plans a second round of funding for additional highway corridors.
