Vietnam expands Tri An Hydropower Plant by 200 MW, adding capacity and improving power and water supply in the south.
Vietnam Electricity (EVN) has signed a $42.85 million contract with the DEC-ENTEC-TTP consortium for electromechanical equipment for the Tri An Hydropower Plant expansion in Dong Nai Province.
The project, set for completion by late 2027, will add 200 megawatts of capacity to the existing 400 MW plant, boosting power reliability in southern Vietnam.
Funded with 30% equity and 70% commercial loans, the $153.25 million expansion includes turbines, generators, transformers, and grid-connection systems.
Construction began in 2025, with the project expected to enhance regional power supply and support irrigation and water needs.
