A 1,098-ton steel bridge, built for India’s bullet train, has been completed in Ahmedabad as part of the Mumbai-Ahmedabad project.
A 100-meter-long steel bridge has been completed in Ahmedabad for India’s Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train project, marking the 13th such bridge built in Gujarat out of 17 planned.
Designed as a steel truss to avoid load transfer to an underlying metro tunnel, it was assembled 16.5 meters above ground on temporary supports, then lowered onto permanent foundations.
Weighing 1,098 metric tons, the bridge features 45,186 high-strength bolts with C5 coating and elastomeric bearings, and runs parallel to the Western Railways’ Ahmedabad Sabarmati line.
Fabricated in Wardha, Maharashtra, it was transported by trailer and is part of the broader 'Make in India' initiative.
