Nigeria's Senate launches probe into sharp decline in train services and revenue on Kaduna-Abuja line.

The Nigerian Senate has launched an ad-hoc committee to investigate declining operations at the Nigerian Railway Corporation, following reports of reduced train services and passenger numbers on the Kaduna-Abuja line. The probe, initiated by Senator Abdul Ningi, cites a drop from 10 daily shuttles to two and passenger counts from 10,000 to 800–900 daily, along with a sharp revenue decline. Senator Adamu Alero cited insecurity and funding gaps as key challenges. The committee, chaired by Senator Adams Oshiomhole, has six weeks to deliver findings.
