Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen revealed on January 29, 2026, that he underwent surgery to address a re-aggravated foot injury, specifically a broken fifth metatarsal, which he played through during the December 21 game against the Cleveland Browns.
The procedure was performed in Birmingham on January 26.
Allen said the pain was severe but stated he could have played in a game that week.
The Bills won that matchup 23-20 and went 1-1 in their final regular-season games, then defeated Jacksonville in the Wild Card Round before losing to Denver in the Divisional Round.
During the playoff loss, Allen threw for 283 yards and three touchdowns, rushed for 66 yards, and had four turnovers.
