The Bureau of Land Management has approved the Grassy Mountain gold and silver mine in eastern Oregon, allowing construction to begin within two years and production to start in 2027.
The project, led by Paramount Gold Nevada, will operate underground for up to eight years, produce about 47,000 ounces of gold and 55,000 ounces of silver annually, create around 200 jobs, and generate $9 million in annual tax revenue.
It will use chemical processing, avoid night shifts to protect wildlife, and rely on existing roads.
The approval, guided by the FAST-41 Act, supports domestic mineral production while emphasizing environmental and cultural resource protection.
