Bihar expands support for women entrepreneurs with up to ₹2 lakh after initial grant.
Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar announced an expansion of the Mukhyamantri Mahila Rojgar Yojana, offering eligible women entrepreneurs up to Rs 2 lakh in additional financial support after a six-month assessment of their initial Rs 10,000 grant.
The scheme, already disbursed to 1.56 crore women via Direct Benefit Transfer, aims to promote self-reliance and reduce migration by supporting self-employment in sectors like agriculture, handicrafts, and tailoring.
Beneficiaries will gain access to government projects such as Didi ki Rasoi, garment units, and Sudha milk outlets, with training from Self Help Group resource persons and improved market access through Gramin Haat-Bazaars.
The program is being implemented across rural and urban areas.
