A woman and her ride were both cited for impaired driving after a collision in Vernon on Jan. 26, 2026.

On January 26, 2026, Vernon RCMP responded to a single-vehicle collision where a woman was found impaired and issued a 90-day Immediate Roadside Prohibition and her vehicle impounded for 30 days. Shortly after, the ride she had called arrived at the scene and was also found impaired, receiving the same penalties. Officers stressed the dangers of impaired driving and urged the public to plan for safe transportation.
