The resort, which began as London Mountain in 1966, has grown into North America’s largest ski destination, spanning over 33 square kilometers with more than 200 runs and 36 lifts.
The milestone season included recognition of the Squamish and Lil’wat Nations, the 45th anniversary of Blackcomb Mountain, the 40th Peak to Valley Race, 45 years of Whistler Heli-Skiing, and the 30th World Ski & Snowboard Festival.
The resort’s development, including the 1997 merger with Blackcomb and hosting the 2010 Winter Olympics, reflects decades of growth from modest beginnings.
