Uttar Pradesh launched a cashless health scheme for 15 lakh education workers, covering staff and families via SACHIS network.
The Uttar Pradesh cabinet has approved a cashless health insurance scheme covering around 15 lakh education sector employees, including teachers and staff in government-aided and self-financed schools.
The initiative, launched on Teachers’ Day by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, provides medical coverage for staff and dependents through the SACHIS network in both public and private hospitals, following PMJAY and NHA norms.
Over 11.95 lakh basic education staff and 2.97 lakh secondary education staff will benefit, with an annual cost of Rs 447.86 crore.
District-level committees will verify eligibility, and coverage for self-financed institutions will follow verification.
The cabinet approved 30 of 32 proposals in the session.
