USAC launched commercial hydrometallurgical antimony processing in Bolivia, boosting U.S. critical mineral supply.
United States Antimony Corporation (USAC) announced a breakthrough in hydrometallurgical processing, marking the first commercial-scale use of the technology for antimony.
Since mid-2025, USAC has expanded a facility in Bolivia 15-fold, with 150 tons of high-purity antimony flake expected at its Montana smelter in February or March 2026.
The process, which uses leaching and electrowinning, can process lower-grade ores and recover byproducts like silver and copper.
USAC holds exclusive rights to deploy the technology in North America and Australia, with plans for new facilities in the Western U.S. or Alaska, enhancing domestic supply chain resilience for critical minerals.
