UGI seeks a $99.4M annual rate hike, potentially raising bills 8.7% for residential customers.
UGI has asked the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission to approve a $99.4 million annual rate increase to replace aging gas lines and upgrade infrastructure, affecting about 740,000 customers across 46 counties.
If approved, residential customers could see bills rise by about 8.7%, or roughly $10 monthly, while commercial and industrial users would face smaller hikes.
The request, filed March 29, may be suspended for up to nine months while the PUC investigates, with a decision expected by October.
The PUC previously reduced a similar request, suggesting the final increase may be lower.
Recent rate hikes have already occurred in October and December.
Assistance is available through UGI’s Operation Share and the federal LIHEAP program.
