flag The Los Angeles Chargers hired Chris O'Leary as their new defensive coordinator, replacing Jesse Minter, who became the Ravens' head coach.

In place of Jesse Minter, who went on to become head coach of the Baltimore Ravens, the Los Angeles Chargers have appointed Chris O'Leary, the defensive coordinator at Western Michigan, as their new coordinator. In 2024, when the Chargers led the NFL in scoring defense with 17.7 points per game, O'Leary, 34, was the team's safeties coach. Under his direction, Western Michigan finished ninth in the FBS with 17.4 points per game, went 10-4 in 2025, and won the Mid-American Conference championship. Before joining the Chargers, he attended Notre Dame for six years. Additionally, the team recently appointed Mike McDaniel, a former head coach of the Miami Dolphins, as their offensive coordinator.
