A judge blocked Trump's plan to end protections for 8,400 migrants from six countries, citing lack of evidence and severe harm.
A federal judge in Boston, Indira Talwani, has blocked the Trump administration’s attempt to end the legal status of over 8,400 family members from Cuba, Haiti, Colombia, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, and Honduras who entered the U.S. under humanitarian parole programs expanded during the Biden administration.
The judge ruled the termination lacked sufficient evidence of fraud, failed to justify the policy reversal, and would cause severe hardships, including lost jobs and sold homes.
The decision halts the January 14 deadline and stems from a broader lawsuit by immigrant rights groups challenging the government’s efforts to cancel temporary legal stays for migrants.
