Mike Braun announced John Deere’s $125 million expansion in Lake County, northwest Indiana, including a 1.2 million-square-foot distribution center near Lowell-Hebron off I-65.
The project, part of John Deere’s $20 billion U.S. manufacturing investment plan, will create 150 new jobs with above-average wages and boost supply chain operations for agricultural, construction, forestry, and turf equipment.
The Indiana Economic Development Corporation offered up to $2.5 million in performance-based tax credits, with additional local incentives.
Officials praised the development for strengthening the regional economy and expanding the commercial tax base.
