Fujitsu's European CEO Paul Patterson is stepping down in March 2026, transitioning to non-executive chairman of Fujitsu UK to oversee the company’s response to the Post Office scandal inquiry.
Patterson, who has led Fujitsu’s public stance since the Horizon software scandal emerged, acknowledged the company’s moral responsibility for the flawed system that caused wrongful prosecutions of subpostmasters.
Despite apologizing and agreeing to contribute to victim redress, Fujitsu has not yet paid compensation, while continuing to win government contracts.
The final inquiry report, expected later in 2026, will detail Fujitsu’s role.
Patterson will be succeeded by Mikihito Saito.
