English Heritage will install new London Blue Plaques honoring nine individuals from science, arts, and social reform, including Sir Laurence Olivier, Julia Margaret Cameron, and astronomer Cecilia Payne-Gaposchkin.
The honorees, all deceased for at least 20 years, made significant contributions to London’s cultural and intellectual life.
Plaques will be placed at buildings where they lived or worked, pending property owner approval, with at least one associated structure remaining substantially unchanged.
The initiative recognizes figures who helped shape London as a center of ideas and reform.
