A Chinese man in Malaysia pleads not guilty to bribing an environment officer to avoid penalties for illegal operations.
A 43-year-old Chinese man, Jiang Fanjun, has pleaded not guilty in Seremban to allegedly bribing a Department of Environment officer with RM50,000 in February 2025 to avoid enforcement action over environmental violations.
The charge stems from efforts to block investigations into a local man’s unlicensed operations, unapproved environmental assessments, and illegal waste disposal.
Meanwhile, a businessman in Shah Alam also pleaded not guilty to a separate bribery charge involving RM2,000 to halt an e-waste investigation.
Both cases are ongoing, with bail set and future court dates scheduled.
