UAE says global oil demand will remain above 100 million barrels daily until 2040, driven by AI and cooling, and expands LNG supply to India.

Sultan Al Jaber, CEO of ADNOC in the United Arab Emirates, stated that the world's oil demand will remain above 100 million barrels per day until 2040, citing growing energy requirements from AI, data centers, and cooling systems. He cautioned that the biggest threat to energy security is underinvestment rather than overproduction. Under a $3 billion, ten-year agreement beginning in 2028, the UAE is increasing LNG supplies to India, its largest market. Additionally, ADNOC intends to improve energy and defense ties and invest in renewable energy in India through Alterra, its climate fund.
