Toyota unveils electric SUV, the bZ5X, set for early 2026 launch in the U.S.
Toyota has revealed a teaser for its upcoming full-size, three-row pure-electric SUV, likely the bZ5X, set to launch in early 2026.
Produced at Toyota’s Georgetown, Kentucky plant with batteries made in North Carolina, the SUV is expected to be around 5.0 meters long, seat six to eight passengers, and compete with the Kia EV9 and Hyundai Ioniq 9.
Originally delayed from a 2025 debut due to strong demand for hybrids and gas vehicles, Toyota reaffirmed its goal of offering six electric models globally by year-end 2026.
The bZ5X may feature a 100kWh battery, a solar roof, and serve as a platform for a future electric Lexus TX.
Toyota Australia has been approached for comment on potential local availability.
