Seattle Mariners' longtime radio broadcaster Rick Rizzs will retire after the 2026 season.
Rick Rizzs, the Seattle Mariners’ longtime radio broadcaster and the franchise’s longest-tenured voice, announced he will retire after the 2026 season. The 72-year-old, who has called Mariners games for 40 of his 51-year broadcasting career, will broadcast all home games next season with a reduced road schedule. He will remain through any postseason run. Rizzs began with the team in 1983, returned in 1995 after a stint with the Tigers, and became the lead radio voice after Dave Niehaus’s death in 2010. His successor has not yet been named.
