A Milwaukee medical packaging plant operated by TekniPlex will close on April 30, 2026, eliminating 39 jobs starting March 27, according to a WARN notice. The facility, located at 6161 N. 64th St., will shut down after years of industrial use, with affected workers including technicians and operators represented by IUE-CWA Local 84101. Some senior third-shift employees may have “bumping rights,” allowing them to displace junior staff, with those displaced becoming eligible for severance on March 27. The company, owned by Genstar Capital, did not provide a reason for the closure, which marks the fourth layoff notice in Wisconsin during January 2026.
