A multiyear agreement worth up to $6 billion has been reached between Meta and Corning to supply hardware and fiber-optic cables for its U.S. data centers, facilitating the growth of AI infrastructure. With Meta as the anchor client, Corning plans to increase manufacturing at its Hickory, North Carolina, facility by 15% to 20%, creating nearly 1,000 new jobs. The $170 million to $268 million investment intends to improve domestic tech supply chains and includes a 33-acre expansion. Corning's stock increased 8.2% in premarket trading as a result of the agreement.
