On January 27, 2026, Paul Cutler, 64, saved his wife Suzanne’s life during a severe winter storm after she suffered sudden cardiac arrest while driving.
With no help nearby, he pulled over, dragged her from the car, and performed CPR on the roadside for five minutes until paramedics arrived and restored her pulse.
Suzanne, who had a history of breast cancer and heart damage from treatment, spent 25 days in the hospital, including time in an induced coma, but recovered without brain damage and was fitted with a defibrillator.
Paul, a father of four and grandfather of two, now urges the public to learn CPR, stressing that timely intervention can preserve oxygen to vital organs and save lives, especially when many people don’t know what to do in emergencies.
