Genesis launches X Skorpio off-road concept and plans U.S.-bound hybrid SUV, expanding 4x4 lineup.

Along with the GV70 and GV60 Outdoors models, Genesis unveiled the X Skorpio, a specially designed extreme off-road concept inspired by the black scorpion, indicating a calculated move into the high-end 4x4 market. Built with lightweight materials like carbon fiber and Kevlar, the X Skorpio has an 820kW V8 engine, a roll cage, 40-inch tires, Brembo brakes, and a tubular frame. A production version of the X Gran Equator SUV with a range-extender hybrid drivetrain, aimed at the United States, has been confirmed by the brand. and European markets, but a Ford F-150-sized pickup idea was put on hold. Additionally, Genesis intends to grow its Magma performance sub-brand and is creating a new ute under the Hyundai brand that may have structural similarities to the Kia Tasman but incorporates new technology.
