Fourth-grade students from Closter, New Jersey—Ella Elraviv, Emma Chayon, and Emma Perez—won NPR’s 2025 Student Podcast Challenge with their podcast "Kids vs. Adults," exploring whether children or adults have it better. Through interviews with peers and adults, they examined responsibilities, freedom, and daily joys and stresses, finding both groups face unique challenges and privileges. The students highlighted that while adults have more independence and financial freedom, they also bear greater pressures like work and bills, while children enjoy more time for play and care but fewer choices. Their balanced, thoughtful analysis reflects strong research and storytelling skills, showcasing youth engagement in journalism and media literacy.
