Corpus Christi approves long-term recycled water deals with Valero and Flint Hills to conserve potable water.
The Corpus Christi City Council approved a 30-year agreement to supply up to 8 million gallons per day of recycled water from the Greenwood Wastewater Treatment Plant to Valero Refining for industrial use, reducing reliance on potable water.
Valero will pay the city for the water and treatment services.
The council also gave preliminary approval to a separate five-year deal with Flint Hills Resources for up to 2 million gallons per day of reclaimed water from the Allison Wastewater Treatment Plant, pending final approval.
These agreements aim to enhance water conservation and support sustainable industrial operations in the region.
