Cornwall city partners with volunteers to maintain Guindon Park at no cost, starting Jan. 26, 2026.
Cornwall city council approved a partnership with the Guindon Park Trailkeepers Association, a volunteer group, to help maintain and enhance Guindon Park, the city’s largest green space.
The agreement, effective January 26, 2026, allows volunteers to clear overgrowth, remove fallen trees, maintain trail safety, groom ski and bike trails, and host events—all without replacing city staff or making infrastructure changes without approval.
The initiative, modeled after successful community programs, aims to improve park conditions at no taxpayer cost and may enable the group to seek external funding.
Council members and city staff praised the effort as vital for preserving the park’s natural value.
