Atlantic City Airport adds third airline, boosting travel options and competition.
Atlantic City International Airport will add a third commercial airline, announced on January 28, 2026, by the South Jersey Transportation Authority.
The new carrier, not yet named, will boost regional connectivity, support economic growth, and increase competition following Allegiant Airlines’ entry in December 2025.
The expansion aims to improve travel options for residents of Atlantic City, Cape May, Cumberland Counties, and parts of the Philadelphia metro area, offering more flights, potentially lower fares, and reduced reliance on larger regional airports.
The development coincides with Allegiant’s planned merger with Sun Country Airlines, which could create a major carrier serving nearly 175 cities and 22 million passengers annually, pending approval.
