Alana Clayton, former CFO, faces fraud charges over $2.3M in alleged scheme involving medical device payments.
Alana Clayton, former CFO of Corporate Travel Management, appeared in Brisbane court in January 2026 facing fraud charges over alleged dishonest gains exceeding $2.3 million between 2016 and 2019.
She is accused of securing payments for herself, Elliott Lacaze, and another individual through a scheme involving medical devices supplied by MediVance.
The case is part of a broader investigation by the Office of the Health Ombudsman linking Clayton to neurosurgeon Richard Laherty and surgeon Dihan Aponso, who are accused of accepting kickbacks from MediVance in exchange for using its surgical devices at Queensland hospitals between 2017 and 2022.
Laherty, a partial owner of MediVance, allegedly lied about payments being for camera equipment.
All defendants are set to face joint hearings on February 16, 2026.
The company stated Clayton’s resignation was unrelated to the allegations.
